This site was started in March 2006 by a group of villagers in Quorn, Leicestershire, to support the efforts of compiling their village design statement.

We hope that you find the site useful, and will become involved in our design statement - everyone can contribute to the process. If you have some time spare and want to contribute to the development of Quorn's Village Design Statement, please contact us.

We are always glad to have feedback, so once you have toured our site, feel free to contact us with comments or suggestions.

Comments on our draft document have now been received from the various official consultees that Charnwood Borough Council circulated the document to in December 2007. The consultees that have commented are: Leicestershire Constabulary, Environment Agency, East Midlands Regional Assembly, English Heritage, Leicestershire County Council and Quorn Parish Council.

These comments have resulted in a few minor changes to the text of some guidelines but the document was broadly accepted and praised.

The document is now in its final stages and the timescale for adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document by Charnwood Borough Council is now fixed and rather short. The final illustrated version must be submitted to Charnwood Borough Council before 21st March 2008 and is due to be adopted on 3rd April 2008.

In order to achieve these timescales we have had to quickly choose suitable images to illustrate the points made in the final version of the text and an illustrated draft version will be available soon for comment, although little time is available for review and change. Work is starting on the final formatting of the document as a publishable booklet.

The latest draft of the Quorn Village Design Statement is available in the Documents Section
